Then entry level r8 would be fine with the rf 24-70 f2.8 because only diffs between r8 and r6ii are IBIS, battery and card slot. On the other hand f2.8 vs f4 is appealing although versatility of 24-105 after 70mm of 24-70. Some would say f4 will be fine for Portraits and bokeh but it is subjective and won’t be sufficient for you may be.
The Canon 70-200/2.8 RF turned this on its head, offering the lightest and most compact (when the tripod collar is removed) full-frame 70-200/2.8 lens on the market. I find this lens fits comfortably in a small camera pouch stored upright like all of the other lenses in the kit (e.g., 24-70,14-35 etc.).
The native-mount Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens will be the direct competition for these kits. In the Tamron vs. Sony comparison at f/2.8, the Sony shows itself to be the modestly sharper lens at most focal lengths and it also shows less lateral CA at 70mm. Advantages for either lens are slim at f/4.

So far I’ve been leaning toward 28-70 f/2. However, some people say the extra weight and bulk aren’t worth it over 24-70/2.8, plus it has focus breathing and noisier AF (matters for video but I don’t do often). Others suggested that with 15-35 and 70-200 the only range I’m missing is 45-60 so a 50mm fast prime makes sense.
